After reading this book, I though that it tells a true story, which happened in the past. Moreover, it tells children about slavery, how some people were treated as a property at that time. I think this book send a message to children stressing the importance of freedom. By using this book teachers and parents can teach children to appreciate freedom. The text in the book was strong along with pictures.
